LeBeau would be shocked if this was to happen. I feel if someone tampers with this team, I am never going to feel the same ever again cause then only then will I have some hard feelings for the organization and the Rooneys for hiring such a damn fool.
how has it been the definition from the start, when he learned the cover 2 from dungy who learned from chuck noll

ppl stop worrying so damn much......for all we know rivera would do the exact same, hell grimm might even do it, we don't know yet

also, tomlin or rivera ain't dumbasses they ain't gonna come in and just change everything and step on ppls toes, they will work with our strengths and then slowly change it up to what they believe is better, but that won't be right away cause we don't have the right kind of players yet.........

I am not so sure we wouldn't be able to make a cover 2 work. I don't know much about the scheme, but we could make a 4-3 type thing work I would imagine. We have the personel, IMO, all we really need would be a GOOD 3rd DT, I think Foote and Farrior would be monsters in the Middle, or for that matter, Farrior could go back to the outside. Either way, our D is deep enough to hndle a swtich.

This is what I know of the cover2, somebody correct me if I'm wrong. The front four give you all the pressure on the QB, you got 3 LB's who had better be good tacklers, then you got your secondary who basically play zone coverage. Its a pretty simple defense that relies on speed and being aggressive. On running plays the D plays a single gap defense where everybody has their assigned gaps, speed and being a good tackler is essential. On passing downs the safeties and MLB drop into deep coverage, the CB's cover the flats and the OLB's have the box and split the middle. Dungy had success with the Tampa2 which is a spinoff from the cover2. The key to running a cover2 is good tackling, speed and aggressive attitudes.

I was thinking the same thing but chose to vent instead lol. If this guy is smart why not use the personel that we have and make up a defense no ones seen before, tweak it to fit our strengths. I bet there is a part of LeBeaus brain that hasn't even been tapped yet.

If you donít stand behind our troops.....Please feel free to stand in front of them!!!

You're right on about the cover2. That was a nice post.

I could see Tomlin switching the D. I just think he probally wants to win right away and the best way to that is letting your players play to their strengths. Which he basically said in his interview.

Thanx bro......He'll come in and get a feel for everybody and make his own judgements on everybody strengths and weaknesses. I don't see a major overhaul coming but like you said earlier he could mix his cover2 schemes in with the 3-4. No matter what whoever lands the job it will be their team and their decisions to make all we can do is......Roll with it!!!

I have to agree with Koopa. No one is going to come in and turn this team over. They are going to want sucess from the start and coming in and changing everything won't equal the success they will want. You know they know about what the Steelers are good at (and defense is what we pride ourselves on) Tomlin and Rivera both understand that and while they might work to change things in the future, they won't do it as long as everything we have in place is still working.

sig made by K Train....Thank you!
