No huddle offense was effective vs the Ravens

For the first time all year long the Steelers broke out the no huddle and actually used it effectively. For nearly the entire second half on offense, Arians allowed Ben to run it and to Ben's credit he was able to execute it. The Steelers moved the ball effectively the entire 2nd half and had it not been for Ben's mental blunder with the Suggs interception they would have atleast scored a FG out of it most likely.

This was a good time to use it because in the first half the offense really couldn't generate much of anything consistently. Even though the front line was giving Ben time and the running game was just effective enough, the receivers were blanketed by the Ravens secondary. Had Arians not went to the no huddle in the second half there's no telling how much worse this game could have been. It's clear that the Steelers offense is more than capable of using this gameplan now, even with Hines and Sanders out. Jerricho Cotchery is more than experienced enough, as is Mike Wallace. Antonio Brown showed he's got the fearless attitude and tenacity to make plays for Ben even in traffic.

We can only hope they will break this out more often, and it's nice to know the offense can run it effectively when they need to.

Thinking about this again this morning, whether or not you need it against the Bengals remains to be seen. However there's no reason to think you shouldn't continue to use this formation to add another dimensional to your arsenal, especially when you're undermanned and need a change of pace. Also though just to keep things changing and not let the defense get a beat on you.
