We talked about this on the podcast last night and I want to get everyone's input on it. Who is your player to step up this Sunday night against Baltimore. There's many people that you can look too but I'm going with Heath Miller.
The Steelers are starting to finally use Heath in a manner where he can be extremely effective and actually take over a game with Ben. On the opening drive last Sunday, it was the Miller & Roethlisberger show. The 2 routinely hooked up for first downs, moving the chains and further demoralizing the Patriots defense. This is the type of play that Miller has been capable of since he came to the team and now the Steelers are finally beginning to tap that talent for more than just 3-4 passes per game.
Season stats: 30 catches, 361 yds. 12.0 average, 2 TD's.
The Ravens are going to blitz Ben, they always do so he will need to get the ball out of his hands early and slow down that pass rush. They do that and it will open things up downfield and in the running game. Heath can be that guy all day long. Even if they back off the blitz though and drop more back in coverage, Heath will still find a way to get open. He's always very adept in finding the soft spot in the zone or just flat out making the catch in traffic.
