It's easy to like this guy simply because he is a former Steeler great, but it's clear he is having a huge impact on our DB's this season. Well done Coach Lake!!

I couldn't agree more. He has had a major impact on the improvement of the Steelers' secondary.![]()
With Lake, I'm starting to think that he is simply more willing to give the job to the guy with the hot hand, veteran starter or not. Plus, it looks like some of his skills are rubbing off on these guys. Huge acquisition for the coaching staff thus far.
He's been brilliant so far with this group. Lebeau and Tomlin made the right choice in bringing him back to the team. He can relate to the players not only as a coach but as a former Steeler too. His experience may be limited as a coach but it's clear he's got this group going in the right direction.
I love how he plays who is doing well and improving, not starting a player just because they are veterans. I'm glad to see McFadden behind 22, 23, and 28.
Bleeding Black and Gold since 86'
Imagine what he will do with OTA's and a full training camp, he has these young guys balling out! he was a very important piece to this puzzle!
Speaking of young guys where is C.Brown don't tell me Cortez has surpassed him ?
He has been a plus so far. What impressed me yesterday was that not only did the Steelers play more mon coverage, they played man coverage very well. They didn't have to blitz all day long and still got pressure. This give opposing OC's a lot to think about.
Kudos to Carnell and LeBeau - the wizard has done it again.
He really has worked wonders with the guys. I'm so glad to see Ike having a stellar season thus far and what do you know, William Gay isn't the worst thing to happen to the Steelers. Lewis is playing good too. Even the rookies Brown and Allen are putting in work and making tackles on special teams and such. Now it's our LB's I'm worried about. Imagine that.
If I'm not mistaken I saw them both make plays vs the Pats.
