Sly had a rough training camp and preseason from what we saw. He was routinely over pursuing the play especially in preaseason and getting overrun. Couple that with the Steelers love of veterans and Sly won't see much time this year unless injuries happen.

i think they need to let him get some game action....the dude is a grown ass monster
I'd rather see Sly in there then Farrior at this time.
A stud TE always exposes your weakest linebackers.

He'll get his snaps eventually - soon enough? I don't believe so, but he'll get them. 3 years is not unusual for the Steelers before the lower draft picks starts to see any extended action.

Sounds as if Farrior may be out tomorrow with signing of Ivy from practice squad. Could this mean time for Sly?
