Raheem Brock to be fined for hit on Roethlisberger

Adam Schefter just reported on SportsCenter that Brock will be charged a (currently) unknown amount for his low hit on Roethlisberger at the game yesterday. I was very surprised to see this, seeing as everyone was saying that Brock was blocked into Roethlisberger and that it wasn't his fault. But, I am happy that finally something good fine wise is happening in the Steelers favor. I'll be really interested to see how much he does get fined..

According to the rules he should be fined. Its one of those plays thought that when it happens to us we want their heads. When it happens against us it was clean. My problem with it is this: The fine does nothing for us, if it were a close game the 15 yard penalty could be huge. The refs need to call it on the field, or forget it.

I only saw the play a couple times on highlights, but someone thinks he must of had enough time to stop his momentum towards Ben's legs.

Cheesy to fine a guy for that. He got tripped. What's he supposed to do, ignore the laws of physics and float away?

If it was a clearly deliberate hit, sure. It wasn't. Let it go, NFL.

I'm guessing nothing was said about the second shot at Ben's knees a couple players later.

Probably not just because he wasn't rolling on the ground in pain after that one.

Wait, is Brock the guy who first hit Ben low and got the penalty or the second guy who hit Ben low and didn't get penalized?

It looked to me like the first hit was a result of the guy getting tripped. If he wasn't tripped, he would have hit Ben higher or possibly would have been able to hold up. He shouldn't be fined. The second hit looked like the guy dove right at his legs. The second guy is the one who should be fined.

If it is the first guy who got fined, then the second guy should definitely get fined as well.

I still say NO PENALTY NO FINE! How does a fine help the team that got cheated??? If the refs call a penalty for a cheap shot, look at fining him. It the refs miss it it does no good for the player to get fined.

It doesn't help the team. It does however give the NFL 30,000 more dollars which they obviously need .
