Roethlisberger, Steelers believe offense is primed for breakout year

PITTSBURGH — No matter how many touchdowns he scores, Super Bowl rings he wins or carefully choreographed end zone celebrations the “Dancing With the Stars” champion executes to perfection, Pittsburgh wide receiver Hines Ward knows his team’s identity will never change.

For proof, the 14-year veteran points to the portrait-lined wall of the Steelers’ offices.

It's all going to hinge on the play of that OL. If they hold up well, Steelers will be in good shape offensively.

Anything less than 2 WR's with 1000 yd. seasons and double digit TD's will be unacceptable. There's no reason Ben doesn't throw for 3000 yds this year either. I fully expect Mendenhall to have atleast 1200 yds too. The talent assembled on this team right now means there are great expectations, but with those expectations comes the ability to perform to their capability.

Let's not forget how to run the ball, I think mendy could have a huge year..

I really do expect that too, there's just no way you can justify anything less. The weapons are there, the offense loves to throw the ball. I can just imagine how, if this offense plays to it's potential, how lethal they can be against any defense.

No doubt, Tomlin and the Rooney's will never let them get away from it. He had double digit TD's last year and well over the 1000 yd mark of course. I'd like to see him get that ypc average up though, that helps keep the chains moving.
