Future does not look good for Crosby..

Can't believe nobody here has started a thread on this yet, so here it goes.

It's not looking good for Sidney Crosby. This offseason they pushed his workouts up to 90%, and as soon as he goes that high he starts getting the headaches and losing vision and all the great and fun stuff that comes with a concussion. So, obviously, he's still very much on the non contact side of the hockey rink. If he's had 8 months to recover and still is not even close to a full recover, people are saying that this could very well be the end of his career at the very most. At the very least, he won't come back till January at the earliest. And, if he does come back in January and gets hit at the head like he did last January, that could very well be it for him. It'll be a somber day in Pittsburgh if we find out that such a talent, who was supposed to lead our team for atleast 10 more years, is out at 24.

That being said, can't believe the trainer that let him play in the game after the Winter Classic. Worst move by a trainer in the NHL ever.

That SUCKS to hear. Concussions are strange, to say the least and affect everyone differently. It could just be a matter of more (and more and more) time before he recovers, or at least we all hope.

I know a kid that suffered a really bad concussion in a high school football game and it took him just over 2 years to make a full recovery and he actually was able to return to playing football, but this is not encouraging to say the least.

Above all, I hope the guy is able to return to a normal life and doesn't end up with any long term or life altering issues outside of the sports arena.

Definitely not looking good ,but there is still hope...that being said I doubt highly it was a trainers decision to let him play or not.
Most important is the Kid gets to live a normal life and happily ever after...

Bottom line is that he should not have been able to play on Jan 5th, even if he insisted that he was good to go. He obviously wasn't.

WOW... must admit I haven't followed very closely in the off season and this is the first I heard of the seriousness of his concussion.... still.

    Definitely not good news.

    Brain injuries are scary stuff.

The last that I heard he was awaiting results from 2 different specialist. It is concerning that he hasn't recovered after this much time. We can only hope he has a 100% recovery no matter how long it takes.

I heard the specialist said he will make a 100% recovery. It is just a matter of time.

DAMN!! There's a loose screw up there somewhere. He must have gotten hit pretty darn good to still have headaches or losing his vision. What the hell have the doctors been doing this whole time? Maybe he needs to see better Dr's. I don't know. It would sure be great to have him in the line up this season. Wish you the best Sid.
