Heath Miller has long since established himself as one of the best TE's in the NFL. Even if he doesn't get the recognition he deserves. Being in the AFC he always has to contend with guys like Antonio Gates and Dallas Clarke. Still though, Heath is as reliable as they come and is a better blocker than either of them.
Combined with Miller Time for 2011, is David Johnson and undrafted free agent Weslye Saunders.
David Johnson had a very good camp and preseason. He had 2 big catches early in the Falcons game and also had a nice showing this past week vs. Carolina. Since he's also used as the fullback in jumbo packages, he's very valuable. Saunders will have his chances to see the field this year. Weslye will have to learn how to block in the NFL but he's got pretty decent hands and I think his upside more than justified his roster spot over veteran John Gilmore who was released today.
How does this TE group stack up to years past? We'll have to wait and see but I sure like the potential of these guys.
