Best Tight End Trio in a long time for Steelers

Heath Miller has long since established himself as one of the best TE's in the NFL. Even if he doesn't get the recognition he deserves. Being in the AFC he always has to contend with guys like Antonio Gates and Dallas Clarke. Still though, Heath is as reliable as they come and is a better blocker than either of them.

Combined with Miller Time for 2011, is David Johnson and undrafted free agent Weslye Saunders.

David Johnson had a very good camp and preseason. He had 2 big catches early in the Falcons game and also had a nice showing this past week vs. Carolina. Since he's also used as the fullback in jumbo packages, he's very valuable. Saunders will have his chances to see the field this year. Weslye will have to learn how to block in the NFL but he's got pretty decent hands and I think his upside more than justified his roster spot over veteran John Gilmore who was released today.

How does this TE group stack up to years past? We'll have to wait and see but I sure like the potential of these guys.

I'd love to use them for dink and dunk vs home run long bombs once in a while.

I agree this offense is freaking loaded..

Saunders is going to be the best TE on the roster in two years.......I think the Steelers offense needs to exploit opposing defenses period if that means dink and dunk so be it or if it means going deep......The Steelers have the weapons in the passing game to throw it deep or dink/dunk a team to death......

I'd love to get TE Ladarius Green from Louisiana-Lafayette next year. He'd be a great pass catching TE for us, as Heath is a combo TE with great hands (but not a great athlete) and Saunders is basically the same thing as Heath, except slightly heavier, slightly taller, slightly slower, and raw.

Green would be a completely different type of weapon. He could be a pass-catching nightmare if he pans out.

Its ashame for Miller that he has to block so much. We havent been able to set him free.

I don't think they're capable of dinking and dunking, it's either big plays down field or run the ball, LOL. I would love to see them use that type of offense now and then, with these play makers at TE it could be lethal.

they need to start the dink and dunk a little.. just for countering the blitzes, that will give ben some more time to throw the long ones on the next plays... and not have these 8 man bull rushes all afternoon.
