Anthony Gray among Steelers cuts to trim roster to 80

Just saw a tweet from NT Anthony Gray.

@AnthonyGray67 Well steelerNation it's been real. I just been released!!
I was pulling for this kid, I liked his tenacity on the field from the little bit we saw of him. He made some nice plays especially in the first preseason game vs. Washington. So for NT now it's down to McClendon or Hoke, and I think most of us are assuming it will be Chris again making the roster.

More cuts will be coming in today as the Steelers must trim down to 80 players by 4pm.

Just saw an update: The roster now down to 80 players,
@SteelersDigest: 4 more cut: NT Anthony Gray, WR Terrence McCray, CB Niles Brinkley and OLB Chris Ellis. Roster now at 80.

I hope we can get him our our practice squad. I really liked him too, but I am assuming if he was cut this early, the Steelers are not interested in him being on the practice squad. Normally, we release those players last.

He could be a candidate for the PS, we'll have to wait and see. He is such a monster on the field. Either way I hope he finds a team to pick him up.

As long as it's not the Pats, Ravens or the Browns (no one gives a crap about the bengals.)

No major surprises there either, these first round cuts aren't usually anything to write home about. the next round we will start to see some surprises I would imagine.

I liked Gray. Hopefully he lands on the PS.

Another guy who will probably be cut that I like is Malecki. Not the greatest guard, but it looks like he wants to kill people on every down.

Yeah, this is somewhat of a surprise. It did not look good for him making it to the final 53, but a lot of us figured he was one of those making the last cuts tough.

Sometimes players are cut early so they get overlooked. Maybe this is the case here.
