Baked Parmesan Sea Scallops

1/2 lb sea scallops(large ones)
1/4 c breadcrumbs
1 tsp. margarine or butter
1/4 c white wine
2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese

Salt and freshly ground pepper

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Rinse scallops and place in a small baking dish, just large enough to hold them in one layer. Sprinkle with bread crumbs and toss to coat. Cut margarine into bits and spread among the scallops. Add wine to baking dish and bake for 15 minutes.
Remove from oven and turn on broiler. Sprinkle scallops with Parmesan cheese and place under broiler for 10 seconds. Watch carefully-they will brown quickly. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
