I wouldn't mind having Plaxico on the roster: ARE and Battle will probably be gone and Ward doesn't have a whole lot left. If the price was right and he is well conditioned, I wouldn't be opposed.

The talk surrounding Plaxico Burress returning to a former team has focused on the New York Giants, with whom he won Super Bowl XLII. But what about his other former team -- the Pittsburgh Steelers?
According to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review on Tuesday, quarterback Ben Roethisberger has kept in contact with Burress since the latter's release from prison a couple of weeks ago. Could a possible reunion be in the works? The duo played together during Roethlisberger's rookie season of 2005.
"I've talked to Plax a number of times in the last couple of weeks," Roethlisberger said. "I told him, 'Hey, if you came back here that would be awesome, but I'm just happy to see you playing again' because he's a good guy."
Burress, who last played during the 2008 season, is expected to be released by the Giants once the lockout ends.
Roethlisberger has lobbied for the Steelers adding a taller receiver to the team's wideout mix. The 6-foot-5 Burress, who last played during the 2008 season before going to prison on a weapons charge, is expected to be released by the Giants once the lockout ends. Burress has called his relationship with Giants coach Tom Coughlin "ambivalent".
Roethlisberger, who was Burress' neighbor in Pittsburgh, made his comments during his football camp for children ages 7-14.
The quarterback also addressed the lockout and why the Steelers, who will return most of their starters from a team that again reached the Super Bowl, expect to be in good shape once it ends.
"It's not like we need a rookie center or a new quarterback, someone to learn the offense right away, so I think we are better equipped (to deal with the lockout) than we would be if we were a younger team," Roethlisberger said. "We don't need to fill many spots. I think that translates into a veteran team that can deal with things like this."
not gonna lie, i'd probably pop a chub if plax came back
imagine if we still had holmes, and plax came back
IF plax comes back they can start sizing the rings now we will have the ultimate offense
If the O can put 30 up a game the D can afford to let guys run wide open (GAY)...
"Happy Happy Happy"
His worse years were as a Steeler. Big dumb and stupid. Washed up...bet the Ravens sign him.![]()
Burress and Tiki to replace M Moore and ARE.....I will take it...............
I find this opportunity of signing Plaxico as ideal to keep the depth @ WR strong. This allows the running game to thrive as well. Very little separates playoff teams with big plays required to get the jump and with Plaxico's size & experience, why NOT tender his services? C'mon Steelers Front Office. Make it Happen!!
Sanders & Wallace are the Steelers future @ WR but having a tall WR to stretch defences allows Sanders to develop more rapidly before Hines Ward retires.

Tomlin on Plaxico, Tiki
8:05
AM ETMike Tomlin | Steelers TopEmailCommentsThe Pittsburgh Steelers have been cited by multiple prominent national NFL reporters as one of the front-runners to sign running back Tiki Barber this offseason as the veteran attempts a comeback.
Meanwhile, Ben Roethlisberger indicated this week that he's in favor of the team targeting Plaxico Burress in free agency, and a report from Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette on Monday indicated that "Steelers coaches are interested in Burress but depends on price."
Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin might be one of those coaches, but he wasn't about to show his cards during an appearance on 1490 AM in Virginia Beach. (H/T to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk for the catch).
"I don't know the status of those two guys," Tomlin said, "and I don't worry about what's said in the media in terms of potential free agents. That's not my bag, man. [Editor's note: Invoking Austin "Danger" Powers?] This is slow sports time, so people are gonna say whatever it is they're gonna say."
Coaches don't generally elaborate on their plans for free agency during appearances on sports radio stations in Virginia Beach, so it's not surprising that Tomlin was less than totally forthcoming there. Unlike other teams to which Plaxico and Tiki have been linked, we haven't seen the kind of straight denials emanating from the local reporters on either guy, so the Steelers remain on the speculative list for both.- Tim Kavanagh
I dunno, to quote Burress " The people of Pittsburgh are racist and don't know what to think when they see a big black man with corn rows"
