James Harrison uses Twitter to speak out on new NFL rule changes

    Well, that didn't take long.

    Harrison

    Woodley
Less than 24 hours after the NFL ruled it would increase punishment next season for multiple flagrant hits, two members of the Pittsburgh Steelers bashed the decision via Twitter.
"I'm absolutely sure now after this last rule change that the people making the rules at the NFL are idiots," Pittsburgh Pro Bowl linebacker James Harrison tweeted.
Steelers teammate and fellow linebacker LaMarr Woodley agreed.
"Thoughts on 'the steelers rule'??? lol im sorry that im not sorry we hit 2 hard," Woodley tweeted.
Pittsburgh has been the poster child for increased defensive penalties and fines over the past year. The Steelers continue to play a hard-hitting brand of football, while the NFL is dramatically shifting to offense and high scoring. This scenario has presented an ongoing clash between the league and its most successful franchise.

Harrison became the NFL's biggest target last season. He paid a league-high $100,000 in fines last year.

Many teammates stood up for Harrison, including Pro Bowl safety Troy Polamalu, receiver Hines Ward and safety Ryan Clark. The NFL also cringed in February as the Steelers used the league's biggest platform during Super Bowl week to speak out against recent changes.

It hasn't been legal, but it is a lot like failing to use your turn signal: For the most part, they don't care, but sometimes they'll call it.

It was a joke. I know it hasn't actually been legal...
