    Ben works with Reid

    http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/pitt.../s_466080.html

It's good to see he's working with the young guys and trying to get the timing down with them so everyone is on the same page. Way to go Ben, you're doing a great job !

Ben Roethlisberger did some throwing Monday at St. Vincent College.

The Steelers' quarterback also did some coaching.

Roethlisberger called for rookie wide receiver Willie Reid immediately after hooking up with Reid on a seam route against a blitz. Reid made a leaping catch on the play, but the execution was awkward enough that Roethlisberger felt further review was in order.

Roethlisberger did a lot of talking and Reid a great deal of listening during the exchange.

"He was just making sure we were on the same page, receiver-quarterback talk," Reid said. "He does a real good job of letting us know what we need to do, where we need to be at certain times.

"You have to listen to the quarterback."

Reid, a No. 3b pick from Florida State, appreciated the interest and the attention to detail revealed during the impromptu session.

"He's real good with his leadership role," Reid said of Roethlisberger. "He understands his role and he sets everybody straight.

"He's the captain and we have to listen to him."

The pass to Reid was one of six Roethlisberger completed in 12 attempts during 11-on-11 drills.

Roethlisberger would have gone 7 for 12 had wide receiver Santonio Holmes not dropped a pass while trying to make a difficult, sliding catch. Holmes slammed the ball into the ground in frustration after almost making the play.

Nice to hear that Big Ben is taking over as a leader. He needs to with the young WR's we have.

I'll bet you both 2000 points that Hines does better than both of them this year

Actually how bout this, I'll bet Nate Washington has better numbers than Reid and equally good if not better than Holmes.

Well unless every single TD goes to Hines, you'd probably win that bet

blitz, you must be one of those fans that jumped off the holmes bandwagon after all the **** this offseason. but since you are doubting him, i'm gonna kick you back off when he does badass and all the doubters are slobberin all over him lol........reid will be good but not within the next two years. to much depth for a 3rd round punt returner to be any good. holmes will be starting by the end of the season.

Which blitz are you talking about, you gotta be more specific

If you're referring to me, I haven't jumped off his bandwagon at all, I hope he sets a rookie record with receptions, has 15 TD's and returns kicks like they are going outta style..but I think both him and reid will take time to develop, it's not often that a rookie WR jumps right in and has alot of success.
