Thoughts on the Steelers secondary for 2011

Will they be much improved, improved , slightly improved the same as last season or worst than last year? My feeling is that it will be improved mostly because the injection of youth and speed and coach lake will add toughness to the corners

It's going to be the same until I see William Gay off the roster. He's absolutely wretched in coverage.

And saying hes good at blitzing off the edge is like saying Hines' is a great blocker in run support. It has very little to do with the position he plays at all.

i like gay covering slot WRs, just not TEs and TO.

i dont think he;; be around though, im saying definitely noticably better especially with the addition of heyward and brown

Don't worry i'm not a will gay fan either however im a Crezdon Butler fan i'm interested to SEE IF HE AND KEENAN LEWIS WIll step up darn keyboard

I hate to say it but Keenan Lewis is going to have a hard time making the roster. I had high hopes for him , he just doesn't seem to get the big picture.

seriously, can we scrap the willie gay is a good blitzer crap .. this is what i think of when i see gay creeping up the line of scrimmage .. unless brown/butler steps up no reason to be excited imo ..

It all hinges on Ike coming back, the Steelers know their secondary won't survive without Taylor in there. That would mean that you'd have a starting group of Gay, McFadden, and Brown as the Nickel. Any offensive coordinator would be chomping at the bit to throw against them. If Ike can come back and solidify his position then we let the other 3 battle it out for the starting spot and see who wants it bad enough.

Lewis and Madison are definitely on the hot seat, neither of them has done anything since they got here. I could see both of them not being on roster in 2011.
