Lightbulb Former Steelers running back Willie Parker wants back in Pittsburgh

    From USATODAY...

It turns out "Fast" Willie Parker couldn't leave Washington quickly enough.
In a radio interview on Pittsburgh's 93.7 The Fan on Wednesday morning, Parker criticized the Redskins, a team he never played for.

"They weren't about football. They were about partying and stuff like that," said Parker.

"You appreciate Pittsburgh a little bit more after going somewhere else and seeing what another team has to offer."

Parker isn't the first ex-Redskin with Steelers ties to criticize the Washington franchise. Former Redskins and current Steelers S Ryan Clark, and Steelers WR Antwaan Randle El -- in his second stint in Pittsburgh after spending four seasons in Washington -- have unfavorably compared the teams in the past.

Two other veteran Steelers, LB Larry Foote and CB Bryant McFadden, returned to the Steel City last season after both spending one year with new teams. So what is it about Pittsburgh that makes players want to return?

"The players, the coaches, we take care of each other. The coaches take care of the players," said Parker. The chemistry we have in Pittsburgh is just amazing. Being in Washington, they don't care about football. I didnt' feel good from day one there."
"I'd go straight back to Pittsburgh if I had my choice. I'd come back to Pittsburgh with my boys."

Parker said a strained groin affected his play while in training camp with the Redskins last summer. Washington cut the 30-year old RB on Sept. 4, one week before the start of the 2010 season. A two-time Pro Bowler with the Steelers, Parker also weighed in on the the teams' owners.

"You know, that's a big, that's a major difference. You have an owner (Dan Snyder) that just tosses money everywhere, and you have an owner (Rooney family) that has a blueprint," said Parker.

"When you compare and contrast, the Rooneys definitely know what they're doing when it comes to football."

I'd like to see him be a attitude-less 3rd down back
BUT I really doubt that will ever happen

It was Parker himself that wrote his ticket out of Pittsburgh with his attitude. Now that he's seen the other side, he realizes the grass isn't always greener on the other side... With Larry Foote, Randle El, and Bryan Mcfadden they all left for more money and you can't fault them for that. But Parker on the other hand developed an attitude and complained.

Maybe he's humbled by it all now, and could come back and be a team guy... I severely doubt they would ever sign him barring an injury to someone. I wish him all the best, but he annoyed me when he developed his attitude and whined his way outta Pittsburgh.
