We took the right guy value/talent wise. The guy has the measurables where he could come in on third down situations and make an impact.
I love how everybody else is giving the love to the other teams picks. If we can just upgrade our secondary now...
But take note that not alot of O-lineman were taken so a decent O-line player may fall to us in the second round too.
The Steeler way...is the only way.
I'm more then thrilled with Heyward and think he will be a beast........Since the Steelers have addressed their DL with a beast pick then I would be all for the Steelers trading up in the 2nd to draft Aaron Williams....I didn't want Williams at 31 since I had other players like Heyward rated above him but I think Williams offers nice value in the early/mid 2nd round.......
i just saw the highlight from the 2011 sugar bowl they had to hold him to stop him....and i thought james harrison and heyward in the same side....insanely good
Love the pick and just absolutely disgusted with stupid fans on other forums flipping out that we should have drafted a corner and this was a terrible pick. Do any of these people actually do any research? Jesus h christ. Yes, because we're going to get the 2nd coming of deion sanders at #31 smh. these same ppl must have also missed our pass rush getting no pressure on rodgers in the super bowl with Woodley getting owned by bulaga. This was a great pick especially considering aaron smith having season ending injuries in 3 of the last 4 seasons. We needed help on the d line bad

Hoping we trade up and snag a corner early tomorrow so I don't spend the day saying dammit every time one's selected, lol.
Was kind of meh on the pick at first, because I was nearly certain we'd take a corner, but then I actually thought about it, lol.
i little blib from the packers
In my best estimation, Heyward could be the Packers’ next Jenkins. He’s equally solid against the pass and the run, and his size makes him an ideal fit to play defensive end in the 3-4. Heyward has the ability to be a three-down lineman and would immediately fit into the line rotation. With both Heyward and Neal on the roster, the Packers would have a solid duo of young and promising defensive ends to anchor their 3-4 defense.
Well done!
300 pound beast w/ speed and endurance. You have to drag this kid off the field.
Great pick.
