With so few vets I would say Gonchar would be the early leader for the C, especially if Malkin comes over and lives at his house.

He was second on the team in pts last year! Behind only Crosby and ahead of Leclair and Malone. Not to shabby for a defenseman. Leclair is the only other guy on the team that really has a shot at being the capitan

Gonchar is a vet which is a good thing for a captain and he's foreign which would help break a language barrier, especially with Malkin (which I'm not sure how the hell thats gonna end. Pens know where he is but wont tell...)
Me and my brother have this running gag that when anything bad happens we always say "Its Gonchar's fault."

Gonchar was terrible at the beginning of the season, but in the second half he was great.
