Thursday Night Game Against Browns The Ultimate Trap?

Was thinking about it as I wrote this, but the more I think about it, the more worried I get about having four days of rest on back to back AFC North games, with the Browns improving and basically judging their season on their games against us, I've already got an uneasy feeling about that Thursday night football game. Though, that could just be lingering memories of 2009.

    What do you guys think?

I hate Thursday games period, a trap game possibly but the Browns always want too show against us and generally come up short.

    Against division opponents I agree!

    well said!

These Thursday night games are always tough, but since it's in the latter part of the season it's a good gauge to start separating the pretenders from the contenders. If you're considered a playoff caliber or super bowl caliber team, you better be able to respond to any challenge.

When the schedule gets tough, the Steelers usually get up for those games. When we had that back to back to back road stretch they were able to stay pretty focused even with all that traveling. Those Thursday night games are rough for anybody regardless of the opponent. We'll be in the home stretch of the regular season at that point and probably in the midst of a dogfight for the division. I would suspect we'll be more than ready for that game.

I don't worry about trap games as much as I used too. The Cowher era Steelers were always known for falling into trap games and losing when they shouldn't. It's happened here and there during Tomlin's regime but not near as much.

After that Thursday nighter they get 9 or 10 days off before heading out to San Francisco so there will be ample time to get refreshed for that one after that short week leading up to the Browns game.

Keep in mind the Browns are in the same predicament, but they are playing the Steelers. I would rather play them than be the Browns playing the Steelers.
