Question Top draft pick of the Tomlin era

Woodley, Timmons, Wallace, maybe Sanders or Pouncey? You could make a case for any of them at this point.

Early returns would suggest that Pouncey would get that honor IMO. First year pro bowl selection and a starter from day 1. It's a shame he got hurt just before the super bowl though but his future is as bright as any player in the league right now.

its a tough call you can make a case for all of them but i think pouncey had the biggest impact

We can't forget Mendenhall either; when he fell to us at #23 in the 2008 draft I think everyone was shocked. He was just too good to pass up. Over 2,400 yds and 20 TDs in 3 years, and that's with his rookie season pretty much over before it started after he got that shoulder injury against Baltimore.

Probably Pouncey, tough call though, not really sure how I'd rank them.

    Maybe:

    Pouncey
    Wallace
    Timmons
    Woodley
    Sanders

If I had to list them, that's the one I'd go with. Woodley was a tough one to place, but I think Timmons and Wallace are interchangeable at 2/3.

I think Pouncey could turn out to be the best pick depending on his longevity with the team. Timmons is a stud, but it took too long to get him on the field for me to put him at #1. Woodley and Wallace have been steals (if the drafts could be redone, would either have made it out of the first?).

Another one to consider is Ziggy Hood, it's taken him a couple years to really find his groove but if last season was any indication this kid has a real bright future.

this may sound crazy but if pouncey played in the super bowl, i don't think the offense would have looked so flat coming out. he just has an energy, a mean streak, that i think the rest of the lineman feed off of. legs played a good game but pouncey most definitely would have made a big difference...IMO

so pouncey has to be the best pick
    woodley second
wallace third because he was such a steal
    timmons in a close 4th

make no mistake though, all of these players have had a tremendous impact so far and the difference between 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th is very small.

here's to getting that next great draft pick this year at #31...and to getting the next great draft pick next year at #32
