In a somewhat bizarre move on Thursday morning, Florida offensive line prospect Mike Pouncey tweeted that he believes he will be drafted by the Dallas Cowboys. He then expressed regret to the fans of the Pittsburgh Steelers because he wouldn't be playing for them.
Our own NFL Insider Adam Schefter tweeted in response, "Inside info or rookie mistake?"
The general sense is that Pouncey is not in consideration in the Top 10 of the draft, and the Cowboys' first pick is No. 9 overall. So perhaps they're considering a move down the board? On Wednesday, we took note of the work of Nick Eatman, writing on the Cowboys' site, who wrote that it was difficult to project the Cowboys' behavior since they traded around so much. Eatman offered a list of targets for each draft slot currently above the 'Boys, so maybe Pouncey would be an option if the team can find a trade partner that is hellbent on jumping above the Washington Redskins (possibly for a QB?).
This will be an interesting yarn to follow over the next few days.
