Steelers Host Seven Players From University of Pittsburgh

Seven draft-eligible players from the University of Pittsburgh visited with the Pittsburgh Steelers on Wednesday, Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Wide receiver Jon Baldwin, defensive ends Jabaal Sheard and Greg Romeus, running back Dion Lewis, offensive lineman Jason Pinkston, fullback Henry Hynoski, and safety Dom DiCicco visited with head coach Mike Tomlin and director of football operations Kevin Colbert.

Because the players are from the local area, they will not count against the 30 players the Steelers are allowed to bring to their facilities before the draft.

if mendy were to get injured it would be pretty clear imo .. i like redman here and there, but im sick of watching moore pretend to be a RB ..

my vote is for shane vereen or taiwan jones later on ..

honestly, if we threw more to mendy, redman and moore they would all look better.

they all have hands... dwyers was a run outside qb option RB right? he has hands for that but really never received to many balls in georgia.

but the other three have good hands... we just need the plays for them..

ill take dwyers over moore now, just for the youth... then get a FB at 255+ a real strong one with hands. get rid of johnson or spaeth and get a new 4th round TE with hands that can block..

then tell BA to start making short pass plays for all of them...

not sure if he knows the short pass other than the screen though

i like redman .. i just don't really get mewelde and ive heard the argument 100 times .. he is not a threat to run the ball .. as for dwyer, redman sort of cancels him out imo ..

i'd like to see a trio of mendy, redman and any of the following 1-2 years from now

    -shane vereen
    -taiwan jones*
    -dion lewis*
    -noel devine*
    -demarco murray

*would likely be available when it made sense (4+) imo .. someone could reach on jones tho

3rd down Back we need one. Tomlin is going to Run Mendenhal until the tires fall off. He just stated you have running backs to RUN THE BALL. So i wont be surprised to see them select one. I'd like Shayne Vereen.

With the obvious need at CB OL/DL we still need Skill player AN Austin Pettis,Shane Vereen, TE Virgil Green or Lee Smith.

Houston wants to trade Amobi Okoye because he doesnt fit their 34D However he's what The Steelers look for in a 34 end. Someone who can stop the run first. 6 rounder should do it.
