Pittsburgh Steelers Heath Miller Still Flying Under The Radar

Recently, the fine writers and analysts at ESPN.com released their 2011 Top Ten Tight Ends ranking, which you can read here. The list further reassures Pittsburgh Steelers fans something that they already knew – that Heath Miller is still extremely underrated.

yeah, based on that list he makes a strong case to be as high as #4 .. maybe higher depending on what you like in a TE ..

The lower they rank Pittsburgh's offensive skill-position players, the more absurd they sound when they discredit Ben Roethlisberger for being on a "loaded" team.

    So...question.

Someone on my Facebook posed an explanation that basically said that it's essentially media bias (IE: all things Pittsburgh are bad, etc.) how much do you guys think that plays into it?

This guy is a clown. Gates is the best... Then I'd go with Clark, Davis, Witten & Finely to follow. Miller is way better then Lewis and Pettigew. Lewis was a NOBODY before this season, pretty sure he only had 3 to 4 TD's in the 08 and 09 seasons combined. Millers numbers took a big plunge in 2010, but he still destroys them both overall. Don't get how a 2 time Superbowl winner doesn't make a top 10.

I remember posting how thrilled I was the game he played after being out two weeks with an injury. He seemed to have regained his sharpness and had a great game.

It seemed that he had lost the edge of earlier seasons, and has been losing a 1/4 step each year. Nonetheless, he is still one of the top and most valuable TE's in the league.

However, there are strong rumors that the Steelers are looking very hard at numerous TE's in the upcoming draft. For whatever reason, I have no idea.

We've always known Heath is an underrated Tight End. His talent alone makes him a top 5 TE in the league, no question about it. Anyone who thinks otherwise should have their head examined.

The fact that he is never used to his full potential is the reason he never makes pro bowls or is mentioned as an elite player at his position. If he were in an offense that featured him more this guy would have more pro bowls than a cat has liver pills.

In all seriousness, any "expert" that doesn't put Heath in a list of the top 10 best TE's in the NFL is clearly not an expert. Regardless of his stats, his talent and value to the Steelers offense is clear.

There is no way that Witten isn't the best tight end in the NFL. Absolutely no way. And Finley is the fifth best tight end in the league? With his five games, 21 catches, 300 yards and a touchdown last year?
