    Pre-Combine Draft Targets By Round

Trying to get a grip on which guys at the combine to focus on and thought this was basically what I have seen that might make some sense for us .. I tried to keep it to players who were mocked plus or minus a few spots from where we pick on most mocks in order to not to be too optimistic .. names highlighted in bold would be my guess ..

    1. Mike Pouncey, Brandon Harris, Phil Taylor .. some is going to reach on MP2 imo..
    2. Greg Little, Marcus Cannon, Ras-I-Dowling.. Little is a beast and i think the other two are off the board
    3. Demarco Murray, Robert Sands, Dontay Moch.. murray has great receiving skills and is very explosive ..buh bye all bu rb's but redman
    4. Deandre Brown, Weslye Saunders, Chimdi Chekwa, Josh Bynes.. Some don't really like him, but our 4th is a pretty late pick and there are much worse moves
    5. Bruce Miller, Noel Devine, Graig Cooper.. we are going to draft at least 1 OLB ..

I would like to put Quinton Carter's name on here and a few others but i just don't think they will fit or be there when we pick

i think the first three names i highlighted there will actually be higher come draft time ..

Nice list, One person said The Steelers might look at LB from LSU Kelvin Sheppard in the 4th. What they do in rd 1 will dictate the rest of the draft. It Depends on who Falls/ is available with the 31st pick. Also remember The Steelers Love to Move back when they're in that late spot.

quinton carter would be a great fit imo, i hope he gets serious consideration in round 2...hes a FS/CB tweener that would excel in playing centerfield for us and has the closing speed that clark lacks and hes a big hitter

what do you think of Ras-I-Dowling (RID) ? i think he makes a case as a tweener as well .. i think he has to be better than a couple guys in the secondary - at CB and FS ..

hes ok, down year and a bit of an overrated prospect....cant really hit like carter though, id prefer carter much more because he has similar weaknesses as dowling but better strengths for what wed be looking for

Glad you mentioned Murray, hes been getting no attention coming into the combine but is one of my favorite players in the draft. I'm not sure how he fits in with the current backfield but would be serious depth at the position.

I like Murray as well, but have very serious concerns about his health. If we are looking to add some depth to the backfield, I'd like to see a guy with some great speed who catches the ball out of the backfield.
Mendy and Red are nice combinations of size and speed, but I'd love to see a guy who can take it the distance.

Also, no question that our first round pick can dictate the rest of our draft which is why it is really important that if the guy we really covet is sitting a few picks away we make the right deal to go get him without giving up too many picks.

im not a really a fan of the first pick dictates the rest of the draft because that feels like it increases the probability of not taking BPA .. BUT .. for fun ..

which combo do you like more?

    Option 1 - Pouncey, RID/Little
    Option 2 - Harris, Cannon/Little

I like option 1, but lets see if MP2 is even available @ 31...
