I must have saw the Ben replay wrong but it looked like he was ready for the snap he just started going back a tad to early.
I didn't say he didn't have a solid game. I said he didn't have a particularly good game. He went in and did what he needed to do, obviously. I just saw the pocket collapse a lot quicker with him than with Pouncey, which is to be expected.

He had to come and fill in for a probowl center, those are tough shoes to fill, I realize that. All I'm saying is that I wouldn't really give him any special recognition for what he did.
Get the tape, he's got at least 2 pancakes with Rashard running in the A gap to the left. He got to the middle linebackers a number of times. Next time you watch game pay attention to the line play and not where the ball is. How many times did you hear the Jets nose tackle being called for making a play? And how do you think Big Juicey gets in front of Rashard when pulling if the Center doesn't take care of his man in the middle?

How about this quote from you on another thread. Someone had to be there blocking.

"Well I think the Jets also prided themselves on getting after the quarterback, and they obviously didn't have that success until later in the game."

Please don't advise me to analyze game film as I'm watching. Actually, please don't advise me to do anything in general. You CAN NOT say that the reason that Mendenhall ran for 1/3 of the yardage in the 2nd half that he ran for in the 1st half is because he all of the sudden lost his mojo. Please, give me a break.

Yes, LATER in the game, as in the SECOND half, when Ben passed 3 straight times instead of MENDY running the ball. You can't get to the quarterback if he doesn't pass, can ya?

Again, you don't listen. The play calling is nearly all runs. The Jets D loads up to stop the run. That's the difference not that any blocking got less effective. The fact still remains that Legursky is to be commended for not only this game but the entire season being there when needed and stepping in and doing a better job than anyone expected.

Back to civility, look at the upside! The Steelers O line played better overall than anyone expected. On to Dallas!

Which is why Mendy only got 20 something yards in the second half.

Agreed. If nothing else learned from this game I hope it's the need to NEVER take the foot off the gas pedal! Going prevent to end the first half only gave the Jets the idea they had a chance. Green Bay will be even more key to keep up the pressure ALL game long.

I was pleasantly surprised with his play in a game with more on the line than anything he's ever come close to playing in. He and Ben obviously need to work on their snaps as I'd be surprised if Mo can come back at anything close to 100% within 2 weeks. I thought Bronco looked pretty bad when he filled in @ right guard for a couple of series in a game earlier in the season but I have to give the kid,who was undrafted after all, props for rising to the challenge yesterday.

I seriously hope Pouncey can come back for the SB, but at least we aren't relying on Hartwig! I just got my Pouncey jersey on Friday and wore it yesterday for the game. I hope I didn't bring on a jinx. Maybe I should wear an Aaron Rodgers jersey on Feb. 6th. lol

WEAR THE RODGERS JERSEY MAN WEAR IT!!!!!

Looking at his history and his age Pouncey should be back and ready to go. That extra week off will help this team out a lot. Overall the O line played very well yesterday. My point on this thread is where would we be if this kid weren't on this team. He's had is troubles here and there but has rounded out nicely and stepped in whenever and whever needed. That's the kind of attitude ANY team needs.
