Shaun Ellis expects to take advantage of Pouncey

The buildup to Jets-Steelers this week has included a remarkable lack of trash talking.

Practically the closest thing we can find is an honest evaluation by Jets defensive end Shaun Ellis about his matchup with Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey.** Ellis believes the rookie could be in trouble.

“Our defense is fairly complicated, so I think he’ll struggle a little bit with the pick-ups on the blitz,” Ellis told the Newark Star-Ledger.

Pouncey made the Pro Bowl, but has at times been out of position when facing complex schemes.* Pouncey says that didn’t happen last time around.

“Hmmm, we’ll see,” Pouncey said when he was relayed Ellis’ comment. “I didn’t struggle last time.”

The Steelers offensive line did struggle against the Jets as a whole in Week 15.* That’s one area they need to improve from the first matchup in order to change the result on Sunday.

"MO" handled Ngata pretty soundly last week- was very impressed with his performance. Again, not like they haven't seen the Jets before.

Pouncey is the least of our worries on that line.

I'll take that matchup. Pouncey is playing at a different level from anything we've seen as Steelers fans in recent history.

I'm sure they will throw him different looks this time around, but expect Pouncey will hold his own. My worry this game is our OL, it's pretty banged up.

RIGHT well saidI'm not bragging but this is our time of year, Ben is being more of a leader and Pouncey has held his own against sum very good NT's this year, I'm more so worried about special teams i hope we don't kick to 16 we should do like we did J.Cribs in week 17 squib kick it to him ALL game...Our entire defense is old and i believe they want this game more than anything, i believe we win and bring home number 7 then it's rebuilding time, Dicks gone Hines gone A.smith gone and a few others IMO so imma enjoy stairway to seven GO STEELERSplus it's cope B-day Sunday so Heinz field will be rocking believe...Black and Yellow baby

Line should be OK. All injuries acquired in the Ravens game are healed and the boys are ready to go. There might be a few wrinkles different, but every team adjusts as they go.
