Palmer still not ready to play

    http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/06225/713180-66.stm

By halftime of the first preseason game, Cincinnati Bengals fans can start drawing an important conclusion about the offense.

So, this is what it might look like without Carson Palmer.

Palmer will be on the sideline tonight when the Bengals play their preseason opener against the Washington Redskins. Only seven months after his reconstructive knee surgery, Palmer isn't ready to play.

Whether he will be ready for the season opener remains anyone's guess, lending weight to Anthony Wright's debut as the starting quarterback. His performance during the first two weeks of training camp earned him the chance to start today.

Like it or not Palmer is human. Which means that it is goin to take time to recover from such a severe injury. I wish cincy fans would stop thinkin about this season as revenge and let Palmer heal and not rush into the game before he is ready. I would hate to see the guy be ruined for life just so he could make it in to start for one game.

I agree, it was a pretty signifcant injury and you can't just bounce right back up and play right away or you can set yourself back even further. Way too many players try to rush back too soon from bad knee injuries and only make it worse.

I've heard he's talking about it pretty badly. Saying things like hes more concearned than the coach and he just doesnt feel good about it. Not good for Bungles fans.

I can't believe Cincy fans want to push Palmer's Return. Can't they follow the Steelers example, let your players get back to normal first before they're ready to play again.

Well after their 1st playoff season in 15 years I guess they just wanna get back and theyll sacrifice their players long term health in return for a game or two at the beginning of the season.
:: Whoa, where the hell was I for 2 years?::
