Steelers fans at home in South Florida, too

Step into East Side Pub on a fall Sunday and it's as if you've been transported to the Steel City.

Barmaids don Pittsburgh Steelers jerseys and eyeblack stickers. Rolling Rock and Iron City beer are plentiful. And when the Steelers score a touchdown, the black and gold-clad patrons wave perhaps the most iconic symbol of Steeler-fandom, the Terrible Towel, and sing the Steelers anthem that includes: "Here we go, Steelers, Here we go, Pittsburgh's goin' to the Super Bowl."

Nicknamed "Three Rivers South" for the now-demolished former home stadium of the Steelers, East Side in Fort Lauderdale is just one of a dozen or more bars and restaurants across South Florida catering to the Steelers faithful.

The crowds will be a little lighter this Sunday when Pittsburgh fans pack Sun Life Stadium for the 1 p.m. Miami Dolphins-Steelers game.

    Sounds like a good time!
Mr. Comissioner, feel free to resoak those kerosene rags around your ankles for the 2011-2012 season. After the lockout the ants are angry as hell and more inclined to eat your candy ***! Thanks! --75Steeler

There are a few here in Richmond. It is funny driving around town how many cars you see with Steelers stuff on them. Outnumbers all the other teams easily, except for the Deadskins.

It also reminds me of a local radio ad that is promoting going to their bar here in town that shows all of the games and says "come on in if you're a Redskin fan, or a fan of one of the lesser teams" I always get mad and yell at the radio, how many rings do you have? When was the last time you made the playoffs? How many HOFers do you have? Who is your owner? Then I calm down once I realize that you just can't fix stupid.

we have a nice beach bar and grill complete with steeler bartenders... a whole bunch of blank and gold in fort myers beach. it is the biggest group of team fans on the island.

i would say pats, colts, browns, bengals fans follow in that order...

not sure about tampa and miami fans, most stay home for the home games on tv so you dont see too many out spending the money...

We have a steeler house party this weekend.

Most well traveled fan base in all of sports, bar none! NO matter where we play it's Heinz Field II.

Also an FYI, the offical Steelers facebook page is the first sports team page to reach 1 million friends!!!

Here in South Jersey, the ratio of Steelers gear to any other team is easily 5:1. Not just in travel destinations (like casinos or beach resorts), but also in local establishments as well. There is always someone to talk to about Steelers football or Pittsburgh when I have to watch a game somewhere other than home.

Just this afternoon, I was wearing my Steelers windbreaker and was picking up pizza in my van with a Steelers emblem magnet on the side, when some idiot driving by yells at me..."Go Browns"...I chose to not even look up at him but...someone else across the parking lot yelled back at the moron "Steelers kick your a$$es every year--dumb ****!" I had to laugh! There are quality Steeler fans every where--even in a pizza hut parking lot who will defend our honor with their best arguments--got to love it!
