53 Man Roster as It Stands Today

    QBs (3):
    QB: Ben Roethlisberger
    Backups: Byron Leftwich, Dennis Dixon

Notes: Batch gets released after week 4.

    RBs (4):
RB: Rashard Mendenhall, Isaac Redman, Mewelde Moore
    FB: Frank Summers

Notes: Summers makes the squad because he's not very good and Tomlin loves it. Our 'steal' Dwyer gets sent to the PS where he's likely scooped up by another team.

    WRs (5):
WR 1: Hines Ward, Antwaan Randle El
WR 2: Mike Wallace, Emmanuel Sanders, Antonio Brown

Notes: I believe Randle El and Battle are fighting for a spot on the team and I'm leaning towards the prior staying with us. Tomlin knows Brown is too good to stay safe on the PS.

TEs (3): Heath Miller, Matt Spaeth, David Johnson.

    Notes: No surprises here

    OL (9):
    LT: Max Starks, Tony Hills
    LG: Chris Kemoeatu
    C: Maurkice Pouncey, Doug Legursky
    RG: Trai Essex, Ramon Foster
    RT: Flozell Adams, Jonathan Scott

Hartwig gets cut after losing his starting job. There's no real reason to keep his salary. Legursky is just as good as him for less than half the price.

    DL (7):
    NT: Casey Hampton, Chris Hoke
    LDE: Aaron Smith, Ziggy Hood
RDE: Brett Keisel, Sonny Harris, Doug Worthington

Harris beats out Eason as he and Ziggy provide much needed youth to this unit.

    LB (9):
    ROLB: James Harrison, Jason Worilds
    LOLB: Lamarr Woodley, Thaddeus Gibson
    Buck: James Farrior, Keyaron Fox,
Mack: Lawrence Timmons, Larry Foote, Stevenson Sylvester

Notes: Andre Frazier’s injury allows Sylvester to make the roster. Farrior will eventually relinquish is buck position to Timmons as the season progresses.

    DBs (9):
    RCB: Ike Taylor
    LCB: Bryant McFadden, Keenan Lewis
    Nickel/Dime: William Gay, Joe Burnett
    S: Ryan Clark, Ryan Mundy
    SS: Troy Polamalu, Will Allen

Notes: Tomlin will have to choose between our ST's gunner and return man. I think Logan edges Madison as we have a plethora of new guys to improve our return coverage all around. Bailey gets cut.

Specialists (4): Jeff Reed, Daniel Sepulveda, Greg Warren, Stefan Logan

Notes: I can't see Tomlin cutting Logan after he set the Steelers kick return record under any circumstance unless Brown takes one or two to the house in the final 2 preseason games.

    RBs (4):
RB: Rashard Mendenhall, Isaac Redman, Mewelde Moore
    FB: Frank Summers

Notes: Summers makes the squad because Dwyer HASNT DONE ANYTHING TO EARN A ROSTER SPOT. He cant play ST's, he hasnt shown anything at this level as a running back... he is just a major disappointment. IF Dwyer could have shown up this camp with Redman looking decent at FB in games and Legursky/Johnson as PT FB... Summers would have been expendable. So all you Summers HATERS thank your boy Dwyer for $hitting the bed and wasting his talent!
    WRs (5):
WR 1: Hines Ward, Antwaan Randle El

Plus, With Brown/Sanders/Burnette and El all able return men the 4th speacialist spot can go to a 4 way ST player IE: Madison
TEs (3): Heath Miller, Matt Spaeth, David Johnson.

    Notes: No surprises here

    OL (9):
    LT: Max Starks, Tony Hills

    LOLB: Lamarr Woodley, Thaddeus Gibson
    Buck: James Farrior, Keyaron Fox,
Mack: Lawrence Timmons, Larry Foote, Stevenson Sylvester

Notes: Andre Frazier’s injury allows Sylvester to make the roster. The team has too much invested in Timmons to allow him to FAIL at the Buck... he hasnt show MUCH improvement thus far. With Foote on the roster and Farrior aging it may be time to put LT where he belongs and let Foote play the buck. We shall see after the first few weeks!
    DBs (9):
    RCB: Ike Taylor
    LCB: Bryant McFadden, Keenan Lewis
    Nickel/Dime: William Gay, Joe Burnett
    S: Ryan Clark, Ryan Mundy
    SS: Troy Polamalu, Will Allen

Notes: Tomlin will have to choose between our ST's gunner and return man. I think Madison makes this team as a 4-way ST player and he can play EMERGENCY CB! Bailey is useless at LB and they cant get the ball to Logan if it doesnt come off of someones foot!
Specialists (4): Jeff Reed, Daniel Sepulveda, Greg Warren, Anthony Madison

Notes: I can see Tomlin cutting Logan even after he set the Steelers kick return record. Brown takes one or two to the house in the regular season games where Logan didnt!

I adding my few changes but for the most part i agree!

steelcitysfinestXL is exactly how I see it as well. The only way I seen Logan making the team this year was if he could do another role, which he hasn't been able to step up and do. The nice surprise is the fact that we drafted 2 WR's that can actually catch the ball.

James Harrison - "Right now, you know, some people may want to jump on the Steelers bandwagon.
Don't do that. We don't need you. We didn't need you at the beginning, we don't need you now."

I agree for the most part, but will throw a few monkey wrenches in there for sake of discussion.

    1. I honestly think Logan gets cut. Brown offers the ability to play WR whereas SL really is only a specialist.

    2. I'm not sold on only 5 Wr's and 9 LB's. Potsie still makes plays and makes the adjustment calls. I think people are underestimating him. I've always seen LT as an OLB, rather than inside, but that's just me. There could be a surprise cut from this group.

    3. Hartwig? Ya, good-bye.

    Locks:
QB - Ben, Dix, Sandwhich, Batch till he gets cut week 4
    RB - Mendy, Moore
WR - Ward, Wallace, Sanders, Brown, ARE, Battle
    TE - Heath, Speath
OL - Starks, Kemo, Pouncey, Essex, Adams, Scott, Foster
DL - Smith, Hampton, Keisel, Hoke, Ziggy
LB - Harrison, Woodley, Farrior, Timmons, Foote, Fox, Gibson, Worilds
CB - Ike, BMac, Lewis, Gay, Burrnett
S - Troy, Clark, Allen, Mundy
    ST - Reed, Stewart, DSep

total "locks" = 46... 7 others make the squad

    Battles:
RB: Dwyer vs Redman vs Summer vs Vincent (only 2 make it) 5 spots left
Dwyer has been disappointing, Summers is lame but some in the org loves him, Redman is unproven against starting material, Vincent still hanging around, prolly not a factor.
TE: Johnson vs McHugh (1 makes it) 4 spots left
McHugh was our fb/te until he blew hie knee out, guess its age vs experience now
OL: Hartwig vs Doug vs Hills vs Urbik vs Jones (1/2 make it) 2/3 spots left
Wouldnt mind a Hartwig for a late draft pick trade...
DL: Eason vs Sonny vs Worthington vs McClendon vs Paxson(1 makes it) 1/2 spots left
again eason is a guy someone in the org is in love with it seems. others are young and show promise to blossom.
LB: Sylvester vs Bailey vs R. Williams vs Renkart (1 makes it) 0/1 spot left
Promising Rookie vs career ST guy vs drifting LB w some experience vs undrafted well traveled young LB.
DB: Seem pretty set, Da'Mon-Cromartie-Smith has looked like a guy that likes to hit, but prolly wont make the list. If Lewis is showing that much potential? What about a trade of Gay? Im tired of looking at him in a Steelers uni
ST: Logan... PR/KR may just sqweek on to the roster but his one trick pony may just get himself cut too... If they brung in 9 yr vet to LS, that tells me something is up with warren... warren gets the ax.

2013 Record: 7-1. (TW 27-6 Rams) (TW 28-0 Raptors) (TW 33-12 Thunder) (TW 7-21 Seminoles) (TW 39-32 Cougars) (TW 23-15 Stealth) (TW 58-8 Force) (TW 31-28 Fury)

Battle is not a lock. I don't think we keep 6 WRs, we didn't even use our 5th wideout at all last season.

If AB shows up big time returning kicks and punts i say Battle gets the axe, but i believe they actually keep 6 recievers, we will lose AB if they put him on PS, Logan is more valuable than Madison, I believe Redman makes the team i think we lose Dwyer also if he's on PS, Summers should of been cut last year he is a BUM UrBUST err Urbik also is a bum, i hope Summers doesn't makes the team i would rather them bring back Carey Davis again...Hartpig bye bye
