Right this second, i dont see Mendenhall getting many touches anyways. As long as Willie stays healthy (if), Moore is a hell-of-a 3rd down back. Redman has his eyes on short yardage. That doesnt leave much room for Mendenhall, except for maybe KR![]()

Mendenhall ran pretty good before he was injured and thats when he wasn't sure what he was doing. Now he knows the offense and if we can open up some holes we may just see what we drafted. I say give him time to jell with the offensive line. That first pre game we didn't have the starting offensive line in there. Hartwig was not there. Stapleton was not there. Hartwig is back and Essex is replacing Stapleton. They have had another week together lets give these guys a chance to get some running plays going. If Ben is out we should be running the ball more anyway. Redman makes it, Summers to practice squad. IMO![]()
why don't we give mendy more than 7 carries and 1 pre season game before we behead him.
RIDICULOUSLY good looking...
@ yinz, i agree 100%
He'll def get his chance this preseason to make a mark. Hopefully he shows some more promise like he did before last years IR run...

Let's face it, we're all just killing time until the regular season starts.
I kind've view this as Mendenhall's rookie season, and thus expect he'll make the roster (based on his 1st round draft status alone), and expect him to show what he can do if / when we need him due to injuries. If nothing else, he should push Parker to perform better. On the other hand, if Mendy doesn't show us anything by next year, I can't see keeping Parker and Mendy (price wise).
We're talking about Redman / Summers, cause we've seen nothing to get excited about on the O line (as of yet) ... and that subject has been discussed ad naseum already. Personally, I'm still rooting for them to make the team, but making the team is different than being active on game day.
In fact, BA has actually been quoted talking about a new TE / FB (Johnson) as providing competition for a roster spot, and someone posted an article alleging that Davis' roster spot is "safe".

I also read one other thing about the TD's Redman scored against 1st D (which was missing a 3 starters), apparently they were pretty much all on the right hand side (e.g., Essex's side). So...I'd really like to see some youtube action on these TD's.
In the meantime, I plan to sit back, relax, and enjoy the preseason entertainment.

based on his age and how long he has been without contact it is questionable to judge until mid-season
redman will be a forgotten name in 6 months....he will do nothing in the nfl
Mendenhall is falling to the Tim Worley side of the "meter."
