To be fair, Snyder has calmed down with those insane contracts in recent seasons. I think Gibbs set him straight on what kinds of players he needs to be looking for, and how to be more sensible with the contracts. He had a baaaaad habit of throwing tons of cash at aging veterans at the end of their careers, trying to cash in on one more big payday. More recently though, he's been signing guys younger and younger and dropping the big contracts on guys closer to their primes than retirement (see: Hayneworth). It's almost like he's finally trying to build for the long term. I hope he continues down this path and doesn't fall into his old "omg win now or blow it all up" ways again.
