Why havent the Steelers made any big trades?

the steelers had larry foote and they didnt trade him or make a reasonable deal to a team so we coulda moved up n get oher or mack. i think we coulda traded foote, davis n if thats not already enough a fourth round pick in the draft in order to get higher up. Instead davis is just only taking up cap space n we already have frank summers. i do think the steelers will do something about that though but im jus upset that they didnt it before the draft. it still bugs me we didnt trade foote instead we jus simply let him go to the lions wat is your take on this?

There were some rumors that the Steelers tried to trade Foote during the draft, with no takers. I think everyone knew he wanted out and would be released eventually, so other teams didnt want to give anything up. I wish we could have gotten something for Foote, but its too late now.

You are correct, I think Colbert stated this after the draft. Maybe we were asking too much.

it doesnt make sense for a team to trade for a guy the whole league knew was more-than-likely going to get cut...

Like it or not Davis is here to stay (at least one more year). He plays most ST and is pretty good at that. It remains to be seen how Summers will do and if he can even play FB or is strickly a short yardage guy. Sean Mchugh played the most effective at FB last year and right this minute I'd have to say it his job to lose.

As far as a trade I wouldn't be surprised to see us ship a OL at some point some where for a Draft Pick. Who is expendable is anyones guess right now... We all debate about the OL every day... I'd prefer to get rid of Stapleton or Essex. But alot depends on if any of these new/young guys can step up. I guess you would have to put Hartwig and Colon as "maybes" too. Even tho IMO Hartwig and Colon are adequate enuff for now.

hartwig and colon are below adequate although i do think colon will be way better if he does move to guard. but hartwig gave up the most sacks this year for a center we could definetly benefit it spaleton steps up and dethrones hartwig why would you get rid of stapleton hes much better than hartwig and colon.

davis might be good on st but is not as half as good as summers. Summers is an extreme specialist on short down/goal line situations and also BLOCKING with a capital B! this is wat we have failed to do last season n we won a superbowl so i have high *** hopes for next season. i guess davis can stay if hes good on st lik u say but overall he cant touch summers.

reports on davis when he was in TC for the first time were IDENTICAL to the summers reports. hes a good short yard guy and an excellent lead blocker.....they are literally the same player

naw man davis wasnt able to get the short yards last year thats the bottom line. summers is 20 pounds bigger and is fresh out of college called Frank THE TANK. hes a tank! davis is jus davis. look at summers highlight video this guy is a complete monster or should i say tank. he will average way more than 4 yards a game as sopposed to davis

Ladies and gentlemen the pittsburgh steelers have their new jerome bettis and smashmouth football will return!!!

    gag....

new jerome bettis? you are setting yourself up for a major disappointment. mendenhall is more bus-like than summers. mendenhall has swift feet and good vision, summers is just fat.

summers would have gone undrafted if we didnt draft him and thats not by accident, he didnt slip through cracks, he just sucks as a pro prospect.

prepare to be let down when he doesnt make the team
