Why Didn't They Draft an ILB?

Knowing what they knew about Foote, you would think they would have brought in a draft pick to compete for the position of back up???

fox can play in the middle and fox is no slouth he started on KC for a few years and alot of KC fans are pissed they let him go. and if worse comes to worse harrison is much better suited inside and would just dominate there and bruce davis could play outside

would have liked maualuga....and if not jasper brinkley is a hammer in the middle who was taken in the 5th

antonio appleby would have been a nice UDFA because he was the same kind of guy we look for and played in virginias 34 but now hes a ****ing patriot

Well, you make the point about these guys we could have drafted, yet we went for a second CB and punt returner. That spot could have been used for your ILB candidates or even the TE we drafted in Rd 7 could have been ignored in favor of a LB.

There were plenty of big TEs who were signed as UDFA, including the TE Gronkowski from Maryland, who is 6'5" 260, even Isdaner, whom everyone labeled a top OG.

But, I also am surprised that nobody would offer anything for Foote.

Detroit thinks they'll get him for free, so they didn't offer anything.
All we needed was one other bidder and maybe the Lions would have ponied up those two sixth round picks.

I hope the Steelers successfully unload him on Seattle or San Franciso for whatever they can get, including a bag of footballs and some tape!

Seattle dropped one of their LBs, who had been "franchised," maybe he'll sign for the minimum and back up for us.

I hope they sign Ashley Lelie, too.

Yeah, I'm not too sure why they even brought him in???
If anything they'll offer him the veteran minimum to have a chance at possibly salvaging his career. He'll decline it because he still thinks that he is a #1 WR (remember his Denver days?).
