The Steelers hosted UNLV fullback Frank Summers Friday on the South Side.
Summers, 5-foot-10, 230 pounds, is the eighth draft-eligible prospect brought in by the Steelers.
The first three of those, Pitt linebacker Scott McKillop, Pitt offensive lineman C.J. Davis and Penn State center A.Q. Shipley, are considered local players for the Steelers and do not count against the NFL's 30-visit limit.
The Steelers met with Oregon defensive tackle Ra'Shon Harris on Thursday, Oklahoma offensive tackle Phil Loadholt and Central Florida cornerback/return specialist Joe Burnett on Wednesday, and Arizona wide receiver Mike Thomas on Tuesday.
Frank Summers looked like a hungry dedicated athlete, we don't need a running back but a FB with ball skills isn't a bad thing to have.
We're good on LB's. I doubt we go for Davis or Shipley unless they're steals in later rounds meaning they're the best available.
Ra'Shon Harris could land somewhere in the late 3rd to mid 4th, he's got speed and creates pressure during passing plays; haven't seen much footage of him against the run.
I hope some way we get our hands on Phil Loadholt, he is a monster at sticking to his blocks and not lettin them go anywhere, he's good on the run also.
Joe Burnett is a good returner with fluid hips, haven't seen footage of him playin DB
Mike Thomas he's fast, deep threat fast; depends on where he ends up being left still around at 2nd, 3rd, 4th, who knows but the guy can ball
All good lookin prospects, look em up and tell me what you think. 19 more days til the draft
