The Steelers re-signed cornerback Fernando Bryant to a one-year deal, it was announced today. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Bryant played in two regular-season games for the Steelers in 2008 after signing with the team as a free agent on November 11. He recorded three solo tackles and one pass defense.
Bryant was originally drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the first round (26th overall) of the 1999 NFL Draft. He spent his first five seasons with the Jaguars from 1999-2003. Bryant spent his next four seasons with the Detroit Lions.
Bryant has recorded 512 career tackles (438 solo), seven interceptions and 89 pass defenses in 112 career games, 109 of those starts.
