Your Mike Tomlin for the day...

...... lets say, for fun, its next Sat. The day before the game. How do you motivate your team? Not that $$$, and a ring, and just the pure satisfaction of winning a SuperBowl isn`t enough!!

kind of like, complete the sentence or phrase.....

If I were coach for a day, the day before, I would....... Bring in Jack Lambert, Franco Harris, Mel Blount, Joe Greene, Dan Rooney, and if he would, Bill Cowher. I would have them talk about what it means to win a SuperBowl for themselves, for the Steelers, and for the fans. I hear that Rocky Bleier is a great motivational speaker, maybe him also. Talk about what is feels like to be a part of history and a dynasty........ thats what I would like to do for motivation.

I pick these guys for the fire, and personality, although Franco is quiet, he is from the Burgh, so he really gets it. I wanted to add guys like Greg Llyodd, Kevin Greene, and Rod Woodson, but they lost, they were great but it didn`t feel right!

    Whatcha thinking!?

Don't think I'd bring anyone in to speak. It's like Ben said, were a band of brothers. Cowher always told them it ain't about anyone out side this room, it's all about us. I'd tell them to remember what was said all year long about us. our o-line is no good, Ben holds the ball to long. Should through it away. Can't run the ball with WP. That we didn't stand a chance of making it. Now in the next 60 min you have a chance to make them eat those words. Now go out there and stick it down there F**king throats!

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the united steeler nation.
And to the franchise for which it stands. One nation of domination
With the ability to crush you all.

If I'm Tomlin I call all of the players and coaches in for one last meeting, look them all over with that furrowed brow I am so use to sharing with the world. Pull my arms tight across my chest as if I'm trying to hug myself to death, then....let a small tear escape my eye, and work its way down my cheek. Then with a slight tremble in my voice I let these words fall upon their ears..."Please for the love of God do not let me lose to the coach that I was selected over. I will look like a total ass clown in the eyes of everyone, and then I will be questioned until I finally win a SB. And even if I do win one, it would have to be against the Cardinals for anyone to ever think i was the right choice over the Whiz. Please....all of you, if you care anything about me and you want me to return and continue to be the coach I have been....win this game.

Or I might just say....Are you kidding me...Its against the Cardinals, if you cant beat a team from the NFCW, then you suck ass and our season was a lie. you get your collective asses out there tomorrow and leave nothing of that team other then a bloody mess that will require worlds largest squeegee to clean....now get the hell out of here and go play Madden or something...Oh, and MR. Anthony Smith, your ass better stay out of the titty bars tonight...Holmes, no weed..

For the last meeting before the game, I would call everyone who is affiliated with the team: players, coaches, front office people etc. I would have the 5 super bowl trophies sit on a table in front of all of them. I'd stand in silence for about 3-5 minutes. I'd let it all sink in and I would deliver a speech talking about the past, last year, during the season, the city and the fans. I would ask every player to go around and ask what it would mean to them to win this super bowl. Probably throw in some Vince Lombardi quotes in there. I would tell them to keep in mind who they are and what got them here. I would tell them to make this the most physical game they will ever play and do your job. I would tell every player to play 53 as 1, a band of brothers... offense, defense and special teams. And if you all do that, you will walk away as champions.
