Post-season strength of victory

When we won Super Bowl XL, we had the second-hardest post-season strength of victory in Super Bowl history, surpassed only by the 2004 Patriots. (The 2007 Giants have since tied us.) If the Steelers win the Super Bowl this season, then we'd have to be in the running for easiest post-season strength of victory, considering two of the teams we will have played didn't even have 10 wins in the regular season.

Just throwing this out there as something to be prepared for if we manage to win two more games. People will be ready to discount us based on the strength of our opponents. The officiating was the excuse du jour last time, and our relatively weak post-season opponents will be the excuse this time if we do it again.

I think he is referring to the Steelers winning the SB. That would have them play 2 out of 3 teams with less than 10 wins on the season. SD and either AZ or Philly.

Let them say what they want. We made it the toughest regular schedule in 20 some odd years and were facing our bitter rival for the C.G. ... sounds to me like we're earning every bit of this. A big

It's not the Steelers fault who they have to play... This isn't like the NCAA where the coaches can pick and choose their opponents then turn around and bitch because they go undefeated and don't get a shot at the title... they choose their own path. This is the NFL where any team can win any given Sunday... the Steelers don't get to choose who they want to play it's all pretty much set in stone!

What it took to get there is the worthier part anyway. Looking at that schedule at the begining of the year, who would have thunk it? Sure, we all hoped and wished and believed, but reality is most people didn't think it would happen, myself included. If we pull this out, there is not a person on that team or in Steeler Nation that will give a rats a$$ what any of the losers have to say.
