Steelers only team in NFL History

To play in the Super Bowl 4 straight decades. 70's, 80's, 90's 2000's.

When looking at the best franchise teams in sports history that stat goes along way in proving a strong case for our beloved Steelers.

I would have to give the 80's super bowl an "*"... it was technically for the 1979 season.

Technically the 1980 superbowl was for the 79 season so by rights it's considered the 70's because if you don't look at it that way then we only won 3 super bowls in the 70's instead of 4 and hence everyone at NFL films has been wrong for the last 30 years calling us the 4 time super bowl champs of the 70's..LOL

Technically you and Steelers7fan are both right. It was the 1979 season, but the SB was played 1980. so its still ok to say 4 rings in the 70's and its ok to say a SB played in four decades. the guys at NFL films can still blow us for four rings in 6 seasons or four rings in the same decade based on the start of the season. this is win win for all of us.

Nevertheless the biggest win in Steeler history would be one that was not by any Steeler team at all.....Our biggest win would be the Giants over the Pats in SB XL II. With that victory the Giants kept us from losing the greatest Dynasty of all time.. 70's or 80's.......Thanks Eli...

It's all in how you look at it but all I care about is us being the first team to win 6! We were the first to win 4 and now we need to be the first get 6. What a display case the Rooney's would have with that 6th Lombardi trophy sitting there, even more grand than it is right now.

6 is great, but 8 would be better...
