Tomlin voted Motorola Coach of the Week

    http://www.nfl.com/partner?partnerType=coaches

Coach Mike Tomlin of the Pittsburgh Steelers is the Motorola Coach of the Week for games played on Oct. 5-6.

Tomlin led the Steelers to a 26-21 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, improving to 4-1 and holding onto first place in the AFC North. The Steelers controlled all aspects of the game: Total yards (415 to 213), rushing yards (129 to 38), first downs (28 to 14) and time of possession (33:23 to 26:37). QB Ben Roethlisberger threw for 309 yards and three touchdowns. Pittsburgh's defense also limited the Jaguars to a 23 percent conversion rate on third downs.

Tomlin was selected as Motorola NFL Coach of the Week from among three finalists by voters on NFL.com. The other finalists were Mike Smith of the Atlanta Falcons and Tony Sparano of the Miami Dolphins.

    Mike Smith, Atlanta Falcons
Atlanta's Mike Smith led the Falcons past the Green Bay Packers by a score of 27-24 at Lambeau Field. Rookie QB Matt Ryan passed for 194 yards and two touchdowns, WR Roddy White had eight catches for 132 yards and a touchdown and RB Michael Turner rushed for 121 yards and another score. Atlanta’s defense sacked Packers QB Aaron Rodgers two times and intercepted him once. Falcons punter Michael Koenen nailed all three of his punts inside the 20 to help Atlanta win the field-position battle throughout the game and get this tough road win.

    Tony Sparano, Miami Dolphins
Miami's Tony Sparano led his team to a 17-10 win over the San Diego Chargers, the Dolphins' second win in as many games over a team that participated in last year's AFC Championship Game. The Dolphins offense gained 390 total yards with RB Ronnie Brown running for 125 yards and one touchdown and QB Chad Pennington passing for 228 yards and one touchdown. The Dolphins defense held the Chargers to only 10 points, San Diego's lowest output in 37 regular season games.

    Mike Tomlin, Pittsburgh Steelers
Pittsburgh's Mike Tomlin led the Steelers to an impressive 26-21 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars bringing them to a 4-1 record and first place in the AFC North. Tomlin's Steelers dominated in terms of total yards (415 to 213), rushing yards (129 to 38), first downs (28 to 14) and time of possession (33:23 to 26:37). QB Ben Roethlisberger threw for 309 yards and three touchdowns and led an offense that gained 415 yards. Pittsburgh's defense also limited the Jaguars to a 23 percent conversion rate on third downs and held the Jaguars offense to 213 total yards.

Coach of the week should have gone to Dick Lebeau for doing an outstanding job on defense the entire year and Ben Roethlisberger for calling his own plays.

What does Tomlin do exactly as the Steeler head coach anyway?
