Steelers sign Chad Brown

In attempt to answer questions that surfaced this week at outside linebacker, the Steelers have signed Chad Brown.
Brown, who started his career with the Steelers and played here from 1993-97, was supposed to practice with the team Thursday afternoon.

He has made the Pro Bowl three times during his 14-year career and played for the New England Patriots last season.

Reserve linebacker James Harrison (ankle) is out for Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs and starting linebacker Joey Porter (hamstring) is questionable.

“Chad’s been in this business a long time,” starting defensive end Aaron Smith said. “He has a high motor. He can help this team out.”

Awesome news. Glad to see Chad Brown back where he belongs, in the black and gold. So, is he going to start, or be the backup to Arnold Harrison?

I'm sure he'll start off as a backup, but if injuries continue then you never know

Man to bad Chad is so old now. He was awesome when he with the Steelers the first time around. Chad had 13 sacks during the 1996 season. But the signing of Chad does bring some experience until James Harrison and Joey Porter are healthy.

Chad is a definite value to the Steelers D. He might not be an every down LB because he's surely lost some speed but he will be a good role LB and will fill in nicely while others heal.
