    Big Ben Article

    http://sports.aol.com/nfl/story/_a/dont-label-big-ben-a-big-bust-quite-yet/20061009170609990002<http://sports.aol.com/nfl/story/_a/dont-label-big-ben-a-big-bust-quite-yet/20061009170609990002>

Sean Salisbury made a good point that between the accident and the surgery Ben's body feels like it has already played the season when it should have been rested. Do I think Ben is done, no. Do I think Ben will be Ben again, yes. Do I think his return to form may be too late to save this season, maybe. Hey, the first ring in 26 years does deserve a little patience.

Ben has been more banged up in his first 3 years in the league than most players are. That combined with needing to get over the mental block he's got right now and it all spells needing more time than we want to allow him.

I do not feel that way as I do want Ben to take the needed time. If he needs to learn all over again to get rid of his fear, etc he needs to be playing every game. I think that what he and the rest of the '05 season brought us after 26 years, the very least we true steeler fans can do is to give him some time.

I heard Salisbury Steak report this after the game on SportsCenter and it's a valid point (about his body thinking it should be resting). Ben went through a lot and hasn't much time to really rest and recoup. He will need to pace himself this year, hopefully though he will be able to help the team get huge leads so Charlie can come in for some scrub time late in the game to help give Ben more rest for the playoffs.
