Steelers vs. Vikings (Preseason Game #3)

So far the first team offense hasn't looked all that bad, so there are really no issues there. Right now, the defense needs to learn to tackle the others trying to earn a spot need to step up and make it interesting.

I get to watch this one!!!!!! My local CBS station is carrying this on Saturday night. I am so happy. With this and the night race at Bristol on Saturday night, I am anticipating Saturday night very much.
Proud fan of Dale Earnhardt Jr., Pittsburgh Steelers, Duke Bluedevils, and San Antonio Spurs.

Yea This game is nationally televised this week..Finally! Should be a great test for us, the Vikings Defense is really strong, i'm not sure if there starter Tavaris jackson is playing at QB though. If he doesn't,that'll probably mean a bigger dose of Peterson which will be a real good test for our D.
Anyone down around the Gulf Coast region..they are having a Steeler game get-together in Biloxi,MS and Greg lloyd will be there hanging out.

"He's running around there, running his mouth, doing all that, but if you watch him on film and really look, where was Ray Lewis? He was nowhere to be found. I could have tackled the water boy and had as many tackles as him. He didn't do nothing today. He's all mouth. When you talk like that, that's what happens: You get hit in the mouth. He's over there crying now, thinking about what went wrong. You got your *** whipped, that's what." ~ Peazy

    expect and respect

I agree that we should get a real good idea on the direction we are going on both sides of the ball. Not that you show it all,but just a hardcore sample of what teams we play need to expect, and respect from our "Steelers". To me i will be watching our special teams extra closely, because i think that they have been very costly to us as a unit.If they can Gell we can take it from there!!!!

    Online

Sorry if this has been covered before but do you folks know if the game is going to be online anywhere? Danny Snyder has me blacked out down here and since it's a national game, NFL Network didn't pick it up.

    Any suggestions?

Expect to see the starters in the game longer against the Minnesota Vikings on Saturday than you have most of the preseason.

The third preseason game is normally a final warm-up for the starters, with them playing a lot longer than the series or two they did in the first two games.

“You treat it like a regular season game because you are going to be out there longer,” said running back Willie Parker. “I am out there trying to get better. It’s a preseason game but it’s time to see where we are at as a team.”

Hines Ward knows that you have to approach every game the same whether you are going to play one snap or 60 minutes.

“That’s how injuries occur, if you don’t prepare the same,” said Ward. “Most veteran guys we look forward to playing, we are ready to play. It stinks when you get warmed up and you just play a series or two. This is the last preparation we are going to get until the regular season. A lot of us want to go out there and play as much as possible.”

While it might have a regular season approach, don’t expect to see a lot of the offensive game plan unveiled.

“You don’t want to show too much as far as game-planning,” said Ward. “It is the preseason and you don’t want to show all of the plays you are going to use in the season and get it on tape. It’s about finding 11 guys out there on the same page and seeing if we can gel as a team.”

And the Steelers are still searching for those 11 guys, especially on the offensive line where there are some new faces and some indecision still.

Chris Kemoeatu started the first two preseason games at left guard, taking over for Alan Faneca who left via free agency after last season. Sean Mahan started at center against the Eagles and Justin Hartwig will get his second start of the preseason this week. That position might not be decided until the team heads into the regular season.

“We have to get used to the people that are in there,” said Parker. “We are shuffling people around. There are some new faces. We have to get a feel for the line and get comfortable with the set line. It really doesn’t affect me. It makes me better. Some offensive linemen do things different or better than others so it keeps me on my toes how I make my reads.”

looking forward to being able to watch this game LIVE
