Let's not forget Timmons came out of FSU early after starting only one year there. Prior to his junior and last year @ FSU Timmons was behind some damn good LBs including Ernie Sims. The kid is still learning the game.

Whether or not Timmons can beat Foote to be the starter is a great problem for this defense to have. Whatever happens Timmons will have a positive and head line-grabbing impact on this defense in packages.

How I read that 'new' dime defense w/ two inside backers is Farrior will play the mike and Timmons will take on that rover role that Polamalu and Keisel have ineffectively filled for the last two years.

It's a great problem to have, too many starting LB's. He will come along fine this year and make a serious impact. Maybe not starting at first, but he will get field time and towards the end of the year, when we need it most, he will be on fire.
