    Donovan Woods signs with Steelers

Former Oklahoma State linebacker Donovan Woods is the first known Cowboy player from this years rookie class to sign a free agent contract with the NFL. Woods signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers shortly after the end of the NFL draft, according to family sources.

Woods, who led the Cowboys in tackles last season with 82 total, 6 tackles for a loss, two sacks, an interception, and two forced fumbles, was also the Defensive MVP in Oklahoma State's 49-33 win over Indiana in the Insight Bowl. Woods, who is 6'2, 235 lbs, also played quarterback and safety during his Cowboy career.

    Doesn't sound like a bad pick-up!

Got to love a man who stands ready to throw a sucker punch uppercut to the breadbasket of a downed lineman.

Tomlin is making good on his promise of trying to get younger at key positions. This kid will be in a battle for precious few roster spots on this team but players like Arnold harrison and Andre frazier will be in for some battles this summer.

I can't play your video nor do I know anything about this guy other than the bio I read. Is he a dirty player? Either way we have a slew of reserve linebackers competing for just a few spots. Should make for interesting competition in training camp.

Here is a list of back-ups:
    Keyaron Fox
    Andre Frazier
    Arnold Harrison
    Lawrence Timmons
    Anthony Trucks
    Bruce Davis
    Mike Humpal
    Donovan Woods

Counting the 4 starters (Woodley, Foote, Farrior, Harrison) thats 12 linebackers. How many did we carry on the 45 man roster last year?

Ps. A mean streak for a linebacker is not a bad thing....worked for Greg Lloyd.

Keyaron Fox - makes the team
Andre Frazier - on the bubble
Arnold Harrison - on the bubble
Lawrence Timmons - makes the team
Anthony Trucks - on the bubble.
Bruce Davis - makes the team
Mike Humpal - on the bubble
Donovan Woods - on the bubble

If it shakes out that way then there's really only 1 realistic roster spot to be fighting for out of all those players so yeah it's going to be fun to watch.

Ps. A mean streak for a linebacker is not a bad thing....worked for Greg Lloyd.

Why don't you look at the entire play? The guy slams his head into the ground!!! I'd hit him too......

I saw him play Quarterback in the Alamo bowl against The Ohio State University a couple years ago. He is a great athlete and a nice pick up for us!!!
