I liked the thoughtfulness of the trades, but two issues:

1)Ravens will do nothing to help the Steelers, so that trade NEVER happens.

    2) NO offensive linemen???

    Are you nuts?

Kevin Colbert keeps talking about how deep the OL class is. To me, this is laying the groundwork for not taking an offensive linemen on day 1. With Max Starks coming back and the FA signing of Hartwig the need is lessened a lot.

The Ravens would be moving up to get their QB of the future (they hope). The trade is a 2 way street. The Ravens already have a history of trading with the Bengals and Browns, so they aren't opposed to trading within the division. I'm not guaranteeing the trade, but I don't think it should be dismissed by saying the Ravens will do nothing to help the Steelers.

The team has no tackles on the roster that are currently signed past next season with the exception of Colon. This makes a Tackle a priority in this draft no matter how you look at it. Day 1 to say the least you would think but the way they've been eyeing up Kentwan Balmer of North Carolina and Calais Campbell of Miami don't put it past them to do DE in the first and stay put.

I'm sure they are going to draft some OL help, but I don't think it's absolutly certain they will in the first 2 rounds. The Steelers picks are going to be dependant on how the draft plays out leading up to each of their picks. In the first round it looks like the tackles are going to be long gone before the 23rd pick with the exception of Gosder Cherilus. My problem with Cherilus and I have a hunch the Steelers feel the same way is the fact he's one dimentional. He's strictly a RT. You are constantly hearing Tomlin refer to players with position flexibility. Even before Tomlin was in Pittsburgh the Steelers seemed to lean that direction in their personel. Versatile players create roster spots. The Steelers often times only carry 9 offensive linemen on the roster because several of them can play multiple positions. Look at the last few offensive linemen they've drafted. They've been versatile. Bottom line is you don't want to see the Steelers reach for a player just for the sake of adding a tackle to the roster. Signing Starks long term seems to be a priority. Sam Baker is a guy to keep an eye on. He can play 4 offensive line positions (not center). He would be a reach at #23, and will be gone by the time they pick in the second round. Baker will likely be off the board inside of the first 5 picks of round 2. Duane Brown from Virginia Tech is another guy to keep an eye on. He could be there in the second.

Possible OT's drafted by the Steelers:

    Gosder Cherilus, OT, Boston College
Sam Baker, OT/OG, USC (1st round)
    Duane Brown, OT/OG, Virginia Tech
Carl Nicks, OT/OG, Nebraska (2nd round)
Anthony Collins, OT/OG, Kansas (2nd round)
    Jeremy Zuttah, OG/OT, Rutgers
Oneill Cousins, OT/OG, UTEP (3rd round)
Tony Hills, OT, Texas (3rd round)
John Greco, OG/OT, Toledo (3rd round)
King Dunlap, OT, Auburn (4th round)
Barry Richardson, OT, Clemson (4th round)
Kirk Barton, OT/OG, Ohio State (4th round)
Geoff Schwartz, OT, Oregon (5th round)
Demetrius Bell, OT, Northwestern State (5th round)
Tyler Polumbus, OT, Colorado (6th round)
Bobby Byrd, OT, Washington State (6th round)
Brandon Keith,OT, Northern Iowa (6th round)
Franklin Dunbar, OT Middle Tennessee St. (7th round)
Pedro Sosa, OT Rutgers (7th round_

If they take either of these I am pulling a Chad, I am sitting the season out! I don't want to be traded but I will sit the season out.....
