Plaza, SA Gold - **Please Read**

Hey all,

We wanted to let you all know that this coming weekend, on Feb 9, we're going to be doing an updgrade to the VBplaza mod that we have here on SA. Right now we are running an older version of it. We don't anticipate any problems at this point with the upgrade but we do need to let you all know a couple things ahead of time so you don't log on after the upgrade is complete and wonder what happened.

* All of your points (SA gold) will carry over so you won't lose that. The new version integrates completely with vBookie, vbux/vcash.
* Ribbons and Gifts unfortunately will not carry over so everyone will lose your current gifts and ribbons. We apologize for this but unfortunately the creator of the vbplaza states that this cannot be helped. You can of course go in and buy your ribbons again, give gifts, etc. just like always once we are finished.
* The vbplaza itself will be deactivated while we do this changeover so during that time you won't be able to buy any gifts, purchase ribbons, or do other things in the plaza until we are finished. It shouldn't take long and we'll post up here as soon as we're finished with it.
* We'll be working on this late evening or late night on 2/9, we'll post up in the shout box a few minutes before we begin.

Any questions please let us know. Again we apologize for the ribbons and gifts but there's just no way around it.

It's a security vulnerability in the version we are running so we really need to do the upgrade...it shouldn't take too long to work through it and hopefully it will be as seamless as possible

To add to what TG already said... we shouldn't even have the current version of the Plaza installed but we took the chances and kept it as is because of its popularity. This new version though will remove this vulnerability we have been exposed to now for over a year.

We know it sucks but at the same time we hope you all understand

Ok everyone we're mostly finished with the upgrade. We have good news and bad news.

Good news:

- The upgrade went pretty smoothly
- We are no longer vulnerable to the potential security risks associated with the older version
- This new version has some new options available for purchase that allow you to earn more points, different ways to customize your username and user title, etc.

Bad news:

- Ribbons & Gifts were not carried over as you all were aware. We have loaded up the gifts again and put them up at a discounted price, much lower price than we had previously, and they work the same way as before. The ribbons have to be manually loaded up so I'll work on those in the coming days.

- Sports icons are not compatible with this new version. They were not part of the original vbPlaza program, they were done by 3rd party who's been MIA for quite awhile so there is no time frame on if or when we'll have them available again. If we can find a way to add them back in ourselves we certainly will.

- SA Gold - unfortunately the SA gold did not carry over to the new version like we thought it would, during the install process we had to remove the old files for the program, which was completely unexpected, so it wouldn't cause a conflict with the new files, and in the process the SA gold was reset back to 3000 points for every one. We completely apologize for this but it's just something that couldn't be helped. We've gone through the list and anybody who's been active within the last 12 months and has a post count of at least 150 has been given 150,00 points to get you started again. This will allow you to bet on games in vbookie, play the Casino, buy gifts, etc. and you can begin to build the points back up.

Any current sig contests or other gfx requests that require more SA gold than the 150,000..we will pay that out in the original amount promised so no need to worry there.

You will all still get a weekly "points paycheck" based on your usergroup like like before, we'll work on getting that updated too shortly. Interest will accrue like before as well so you'll earn points that way. We also upped the points for posting a thread and replying so that will help you earn them.

The lotteries are back and working too.

You can go into User CP -> Edit vbPlaza Options to change how you want the ribbons and gifts to be viewed in the postbit.

Again we apologize for the points and sports icons, there's just nothing we could do about it
