Should BSP stay on the roster?

Brian St. Pierre is on the team and dressed as the 3rd QB last night against Jax. Assuming Ben starts getting back to his old self this week and feels better, does that spell the end for BSP's stint as a Steeler again? or would you rather see him stick around for insurance purposes?

We could use that roster spot to activate Willie Reid, or maybe activate Rian Wallace for duty at MLB in case of injury or just to spell Farrior & Foote. IMO, until Ben shows he is back to his old self, I want BSP around, but once we reach that poing, he'll probably be let go.

I'd have to wait and see what happens after this next game before I decided.
What the hell are they doing with Staley? They sign Davenport and don't use him. I just don't get why they just didn't cut Staley if they are that unhappy with him and it's not like Parker was picking up a ton of yards so why not get Davenport a little time in a game to see how he does?

I was wondering why Najeh was supposed to get work this week when big backs don't usually do well against the jags..you need a smaller type back to get outside and squirt through the small holes between those too elephants on the jags DL.

If we're gonna keep Najeh, then that makes Duce expendable...good point man

That's a good theory but Parker couldn't do anything. So why not give another back a chance? Maybe the change of pace would have thrown off the D's timing? Maybe not, but it wouldn't have hurt much to try and give the guy some playing time.
Also, does anyone else think that Parker was timid, slow or couldn't make up his mind when hitting those holes?

True Willie really didn't do anything in that game, at that point I'd have given Verron a shot first or Najeh and atleast see what they can do and give the coaches a chance to look over more pics with Willie to find more holes to run through.

I think he was alittle more slow hitting the holes because there just weren't any to run through and he wasnt getting good blocking to spring him to the outside either.

    I could be wrong,

Isn't Staley a vested veteran? Meaning his salary becomes fully guranteed. If he is on the roster for the first week of the season. Any cba experts on the board?

That is right, Philly, he is fully guaranteed for his salary regardless if he dresses or not cause of his veteran status. If we cut him, we are still liable to paying him the full salary of the contract for the season. I think it is hidious but those are the rules.

I'm with SF, I would like to see him stick around one more week... at least. Do you think BSP will be released or sent to the PS once a decision is made? I would like to see the Steelers keep Holmes back their to return punts, Ricardo scares the crap out of me! Once Reid is activiated what are we going to call him???? "Fast Willie" is already taken

I personally don't think Najeh could have done anything against the Jags on one week of practice, they would have stuffed the middle when he came in because you know that's probably the only play he knows right now "HB Dive"

He probably wouldn't have done anything. My point is more about getting him some playing time. Maybe a series or something. It sure wouldn't have hurt us any the way we were running the ball.
