Ive never been to high on old scrap iron as a manager, he definitely did not deserve to be fired but I don't think the hiring should be based soley on the fact he is an ex-pirate

I'm not saying they should hire him since he's a former Pirate. I think they should hire him because he's good. Even if he was not a good manager this year he still is good. The Astros just sucked. Phil Garner took the Astros to the NLCS twice and the World Series once. The Pirates have nothing to loose if they hire him.Quote:
