Trading out of the first round

Would anyone be upset if The Steelers traded out of the first round? The Steelers have cap issues and a lot of holes that need to be filled. Depending on what players are still on the board, when would you decide to move down & out of the first round. The main reason I suggest this is because The Bengals Have 2 second rounders #37 & #52 the total value = The Steelers #17. With The Steelers having 3 second rounders they can get a Safety,LB & RB or WR.
Just wondering what people are thinking.

Its honestly not the most exciting draft class I ever saw, and well... At 17 we might find that all the elite players are gone, in which case I'd say moving back might make sense. However not out of the first round. Plenty of talent to be picked up in the latter part if the first round.

Depending on who's on the board , I like it ... but to the Bengals ummm don't think I would , But Miami yes

79 - OLB - Brandon Jenkins
112 - ILB - Gerald Hodges

I know you don't see any RB , but me personally I think Thomas and Rambo would be great going forward (realistically they only draft one Safety this year)
and Brandon Jenkins could be a steal , or you could go RB here with Mike Gillislee ...
I love Gerald Hodges in the 4th to play inside or give Depth

I also would not be particularly comfortable trading out of the first round.... Maybe if we were mid 20's or higher. But at 17 idk even if it is for 2 2nd rounders.... I also doubt Cincy would be down to give up both 2nd rounders.

But just for the sake of conversation.

I would only consider it if - J.Jones, M.Te'O, D.Jordan, C.Warmack, B.Mingo, D.Moore, B.Werner, D.Milliner, S.Lotulelei, L.Joeckel were all gone.

And then if we did trade for cincys pair of 2rders i would love to see it.

2nd - Justin Hunter WR
2nd - Phillip Thomas S
3rd - Sean Porter OLB
4th - Landry Jones - QB
5th - Travis Kelce - TE
6th - Michael Mauti - ILB
7th - Lucas Nix III - NT

I think Lacy, Hunter would be our replacement and upgrade at the RB/WR positions when/if Mendenhall and Wallace both leave.
Thomas Porter Mauti would infuse our Defense with youth at aging positions, Kelce could be our 2nd TE to hold us over with Paulson until heath gets back. Landry Jones could be a decent Backup QB for us in case ben goes down and NIX will be there for development while they give Mclendon a chance to start with taamu backing him up.

Thanks. I think they'll trade back into the 20's to grab another pick but want to get a first rd talent.

I read an article last year, and I can't find it now, but basically it found that trading back has never or very rarely helped a team. The extra picks become camp fodder. So I am not interested in trading back, especially with the rookie deals being cap friendly now.

if we can get lacy and thomas in the 2nd rounds then u trade out of the first round

I would not mind Thomas in the second, but I like Rambo more. I doubt Steelers will touch him after what happened with Rainey though, which is a damn shame.

That is my thoughts on grabbing those 2 second rounders.
