Height: 5-10. Weight: 190.
Projected 40 Time: 4.50.
Projected Round (2013): 3-4.
12/8/12: Ellington has been very good as a senior. His added weight has allowed him to be a more effective runner between the tackles and pick up more yards after contact. He's averaged 5.1 yards per carry with 1,031 yards and eight touchdowns. Ellington also has 13 receptions for 197 yards and a score. The senior has improved his draft stock.
8/16/12: Ellington is the lead back of a high-powered offense. He averaged 5.3 yards per carry as a junior in 2011, totaling 1,178 yards with 11 touchdowns. Ellington also caught 22 passes for 109 yards. He ran for 686 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2010, averaging 5.8 yards per carry.
Ellington is a smaller speed-back who is a big-play threat. He is quick to the hole and can turn the corner on perimeter runs. When Ellington gets in the open field, he is tough to to keep out of the end zone.
There are concerns about if Ellington can hold up under a large number of carries in the NFL. He also needs to show more strength to get yards after contact. Ellington has some big-play ability and could be considered as a change-of-pace backup.
I expect Haley to push for Kenjon Barner in the 3rd, his type of back to the fullest ...248 att 1624 yds 21td, 19rec 232yrds 1dtd ... averaged 6 yards a carry throughout his career ... 4.3 40 time
Another guy you might add is D.J. Harper, before he got hurt awhile back he was the starter over Doug Martin. He would obviously be a later round guy than Barner and Ellington.
I know this is the Phillip Thomas vid but Harper shows some good stuff in this one too.
Every single time Ellington touches the ball he's a big play waiting to happen.
I'd love to have Ellington and Hopkins on the same team.
Bringing Ellington's name back up, I think he would be great paired with Dwyer.
bump, nobody likes this guy other than me? LOL
I like him, but it depends when in the draft.
I love Ellington. I'd take him in the 2nd.
reminds me of willie parker, around the edges runner
I also like ellington. I really would love to get Lacy but factors such as us still having Dwyer as our big back and Lacy probably going later 1st early 2nd doesnt make me feel hell be there for us Ellington would be a good C-O-P back we need since were dumping rainey and to be honest is an upgrade over rainey...
Him and Dwyer with a healthy o-line could be really solid
